Crossing my fingers here
Last night I put the crockpot on top of my fridge like I normally do. Well, my daughter went to get something out of the fridge and I guess she slammed the door pretty hard and well...the crockpot fell off the top of my fridge. Oyy. I picked it up and the panel where you turn the knob thingy is all messed up and busted, so I don't know if it will work correctly anymore.
However, my husband took a looksee at it and said the wiring wasn't affected so HOPEFULLY it will work. I just don't know if it will work correctly. This is not what we needed at the moment...but if I have to replace it, I'm getting a bigger one. I have a standard sized crockpot, but I'd like something bigger.
Still, I hope it's not busted. We'll see. *Boohooohoooo!*

Yep, sounds like something I would do, if I could open the fridge. You're right your daughter and me have lots in common. You must have a very smart girl since she likes soccer.
Whoops! That would've scared the hell outta me!! lol
Cairo, we put her in soccer this past fall. She's a daydreamer/doddler, very hyper, but hopefully she'll stick with it!
J, LOL, it did, and I think it scared my poor daughter as well. I haven't tried using it yet, but my husband may have saved it. Let's hope!
That stinks. About 3 years ago I was making a chicken and I had the crockpot, in our old house on the dishwasher on wheels. Guess what SmartGuy did? He pushed it away from the wall and my whole dinner and crock ended up on the floor. The lid shattered. The base was fine I just have to use my round casserole lid with it now. I have a smaller 2 qrt one and I have a big 10qrt one, i think that is the size it's rectangle shape. I use the medium sized one the most, I think it's a 6 qrt. I hope it works for you.
Ooh that sucks Siuan!! Still haven't tried using it yet...but hopeful. Crossing my fingers here. I'd love a bigger one and someday I will upgrade to a bigger crockpot.
OH NO! I sure hope it still works!
They have the Kenmore programmable one (6.5 qt or 7 qt. I'm not sure) at K-Mart for $39.99. I have 3 crockpots. I think I have problems! LOL
Jennifer!
I bought my crockpot from a thriftstore over 10 years ago. It is that chestnut brown color with beige and a thin blue and orange line on it. Totally out of the 70's. I adore it, it cost me all of $2 and works like a charm! There are other gorgeous modern crockpots, too, but hopefully yours will work! What are you going to cook in it next?
Mine's taken all sorts of falls and works fine. I wouldn;t worry to much.
Have you guys seen that commercial with the crockpot that you can take with you everywhere that locks and even comes with a rest for the lid and spoon?? It looks awesome!
I will be attempting to cook another pot roast again in the crockpot and will post what happens!
My husband always says "if something's broken and you don't know who did it, chances are one of you kids did." Hope it still works!
